During the recent National Apprenticeship Week, we spoke to Sam Coughlin, a Level 2 Carpentry Apprentice completing his placement at our Bute Street development for Cardiff Council.
Speaking of his placement, Sam said,
“The kind of tasks I do onsite include fitting all the panels, sliding doors, and Juliet balcony building. One of the subcontractors, who’s also a carpenter called Paul Powell, has been a very good mentor to me, and I’m enjoying working with him. I’d highly recommend an apprenticeship because there are endless options and opportunities everywhere, and you’re never going to lack work.”
Sam has been placed with Hale as part of his Shared Apprenticeship with Y Prentis.
Funded by CITB (The Construction Industry Training Board), Y Prentis provides onsite and office based Shared Apprenticeship placements for Construction students within South East Wales.
