Thirteen New Highly-Efficient Properties at Ffos y Faendre
Contributing towards Cardiff Councils ‘Additional Build Programme’, Hale are pleased to have successfully delivered a mix of 13 two, three and four bedroom family homes to the Local Authority. The site, known as Ffos y Faendre, is situated in St Mellons on what was once a former enterprise centre.
Using a fabric first approach and featuring the latest sustainable technologies, these innovative properties will help combat fuel poverty and reduce carbon emissions, with each home achieving an Energy Performance Certificate (EPC) rating of A.
Before the properties were handed over to the Council’s tenants, Council Leader, Huw Thomas and Cabinet Member for Housing and Communities, Cllr Lynda Thorne (pictured above), made a visit the development.
Cllr Thorne had the following to say, ‘These new properties look fantastic and I’m sure the families that will shortly be moving in are very eager to settle into their new homes. They are in a prime location, within walking distance to the local shops and our excellent community hub that provides so many services and activities. The current demand for good quality, affordable housing in the city is unprecedented but we are doing everything we can to deliver new homes, like Ffos Y Faendre, as quickly as we can.’
Andrew Collins, Contracts Manager at Hale said, ‘JG Hale Construction were delighted to be chosen by Cardiff Council to deliver such an innovative scheme for local people. These innovative properties will be an excellent addition to the authority’s housing stock, providing tenants with highly energy- efficient homes . . . ‘
With sustainable construction being a passion for us at Hale, we would like to thank Cardiff Council for trusting us to deliver these properties and look forward to further contributing to the Council’s development targets over the coming years.
